Welcome

Heart disease is one of the most common diseases in the western world affecting patients in various ways. Recent evidence has reinforced the fact that subjective information about the health and health-related quality of life [HRQL] in heart disease patients is important information for the clinician.

The assessment of HRQL in daily clinical practice should not interfere with clinical routine. In contrast, from a health care professional perspective it should help you to monitor your patients and improve communication with your patient. It should help to make you more aware of specific problems that your patient may have, and improve patient management and also enhance both the satisfaction of your patients and their quality of life.

To make the use of the MacNew as simple as possible for clinical routine, we developed the online application Health Outcome Measurement - Cardiology (Version 2.0).

The MacNew Heart Disease Health-related Quality of Life Questionnaire is an instrument which will help you to assess and evaluate and so better understand your patient's perspective.

From a patient's perspective, it should help you to communicate to the physican how you feel in particular with your condition. It helps you to monitor yourself over time, and see changes in your health related quality of life.
