The MacNew is the most wide spread patient-reported outcome measure in cardiology assessing all three aspects of health-related quality of life: physical, mental and social aspects. As a core measure of health-related quality of life it allows assessing patient-reported outcomes in all three major diagnostic categories: myocardial infarction, angina and heart failure. It is the international measure for patient reported outcome assessment in cardiology with strong scientific evidence of its psychometric properties and cultural equivalence documented by over 25 publications.
